Colourful castle wedding at Wadhurst Castle

Tucked away in the heart of a 140-acre private estate, Wadhurst Castle is a true hidden gem, nestled within The High Weald—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty straddling the Kent and Sussex borders. Jenny and Stephen’s wedding took place on a glorious summer’s day, with guest numbers still gently shaped by Covid restrictions, creating an atmosphere of relaxed intimacy.

The ceremony unfolded outdoors beneath clear skies, followed by lawn games and laughter in the sunshine. Jenny’s brief for her bouquet was bold and joyful—vibrant pinks and purples brought to life with garden roses, vanda orchids, and clematis. Stephen’s choice of suit was nothing short of spectacular, adding a dash of flair to the day’s palette.

Floral styling focused on key spaces: the Victorian Winter Garden bar was dressed with tall delphiniums and striking hydrangeas, while the wedding cake—pride of place in the drawing room—was adorned with a cascading floral design that echoed the bouquet’s drama and colour.
